For the past few years I have been designing web sites and creating graphics & animation for the web, as well as encoding audio files into a variety of web formats for streaming or mp3 download. I know several programming languages, have experience working with databases and a background in art.

Work Experience

2002-present Owner & designer for Dancin' Moon Web Design, Pittsboro, NC, a website design & graphics company.
1998-2001 Soc. Res. Asst. II, School of Nursing, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Coordinated all aspects of data collection, data entry and subject retention for four Managing Uncertainty in Cancer studies involving breast and prostate cancer patients and family members. Coordinated the work of 15 data collectors and research assistants around the state. Aided design and development of database applications in Access and SAS. Designed data entry screens and supervised data entry and verification by research assistants.
1995-1997 Grad. Res. Asst.I, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC for 2 studies: Frank Porter Graham Child Developement Center, Service Utilization Project, performing qualitative analysis of interview data from families of children with disabilities; and School of Nursing, Managing Uncertainty in Cancer Studies, performing data entry and verification of research data, data collection packet preparation and scheduling of subject interviews. 1/2 time each for 40 hrs/wk.
1986-1994 Owner/Designer & Fabricator of Glass Art, Clarke's Glass Studio, Pittsboro, NC. Designed & fabricated stained, etched and fused art glass, as well as managing marketing, accounting and sales for the business.
1980-1986 Co-Owner Heartwood Boxes, a woodworking studio, Durham, NC. Managed all aspects of the business, including accounting, marketing, and sales, both retail and wholesale. Photographed pieces, arranged shows and created all marketing materials. Also involved in production of woodworking pieces.
1979-1980 Volunteer Researcher/Trainer, Experiential Learning Laboratory, Duke University, Durham, NC. Developed and taught relaxation techniques, biofeedback methods and assisted in sleep studies.
1978 Trainee with Forth Worth Productions, Fort Worth, TX. Learning sound editing for television production while studying film in summer school at University of Texas at Arlington.
